In the new issue for Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, it was officially announced that the manga series written and illustrated by Tatsuki Fujimoto, Chainsaw Man, will come to an end with the publication of its 97th chapter, which will premiere in the mentioned magazine on December 14. In addition, it was anticipated that an important announcement for the franchise will be included in the final launch.
A few weeks ago it had already been announced that the manga was entering its 'final stage' and that this work would also have a panel within the 2021 edition for the Jump Festa event, which will take place on 19 and 20 of December.
Fujimoto has been publishing the manga in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since December 2018. The publisher published the eighth compiled volume on August 4, followed by the ninth on November 4 in Japan. According to the magazine, the work entered its last story arc on November 9.
As of mid-October, the work was reported to have surpassed the 4.2 million cumulative copies in circulation in the eight compilation volumes published so far. The registration of an internet domain related to the franchise was recently reported, and an important announcement is planned that will be given during the Jump Festa 2021 event, scheduled to be held and broadcast in Japan on December 19 and 20 of this year.
Chainsaw Man Synopsis
The story takes place in a world where Demons threaten the peace of humans, making them targets to be eliminated. Denji is a young and depressed man who has sold several of his organs and who works as a woodcutter and demon hunter to pay off his late father's debt. Denji owns a dog (who is also a demon) named Pochita, who has chainsaws and what you use to do your job. This is explained since humans can contract with demons. After returning home from a job, Denji is summoned by a Yakuza to infiltrate a building and murder another demon. However, the plan was a trap to assassinate him as part of a Yakuza contract with the demon, obtaining these more power. But Pochita comes to Denji's aid and joins with him, becoming a half man half demon and acquiring Pochita's chainsaws.
