Date A Live Author To Reveal His New Project Next Month
A leak revealed that author Koushi Tachibana (Date A Live, Qualidea Code: Itsuka Sekai wo Sukuu Tame ni, Soukyuu no Karma), will reveal the details of his next literary project in January 2021.
Tachibana is recognized for being the author of the Date A Live light novels, which he published through Fujimi Shobo publisher's Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint between March 2011 and March 2020, with a total of 22 volumes and illustrations by Tsunako. The play inspired multiple manga adaptations.
The literary franchise inspired a twelve-episode anime adaptation produced by AIC Plus Studios, directed by Keitaro Motonaga and scripts written by Hideki Shirane, released in April 2013. A ten-episode second season produced by J.C. Staff premiered in April 2014, followed by a third of twelve episodes in January 2019. Production on a fourth season is confirmed.
Date A Live Synopsis
Thirty years ago, a strange phenomenon called the Space Earthquake devastated central Eurasia, taking with it the lives of more than 150 million people. Since then, minor space earthquakes have been manifesting around the world. Shidou Itsuka, a seemingly normal high school student, meets a girl at the epicenter of a space earthquake. He is informed by his sister Kotori that this girl is one of the spirits that, by making an appearance in the world, are the cause of these space earthquakes. He also learns that his sister is the captain of the Ratatoskr ship. She recruits him in order to make use of his mysterious ability to seal the powers of the spirits. In order to prevent them from becoming a threat to humanity. However, there is a downside. To seal the powers of a Spirit, Shidou must make it fall in love with him.
