Evangelion: 3.0 + 1.0 Thrice Upon A Time Ends its projections in Japan cinemas

In the official Twitter account for the Neon Genesis Evangelion franchise, it was confirmed that Evangelion: 3.0 + 1.0 Thrice Upon A Time finished its 136 days of projections in the cinemas of Japan with a total of 6.69 million tickets sold and a final collection of 10.22 billions of yen (around 92.7 million dollars). Currently, only 26 cinemas will continue to project the film at least until next Wednesday.

The last tape premiered in Japanese cinemas on March 8 and became the most successful film of both Neon Genesis Evangelion and Hideaki Anno. To date, it has not been released outside of Japan, and on June 11 Evangelion was released: 3.0 + 1.01 Thrice Upon a time. The new version contains "minor reviews" to some animation sequences, but does not change the history of the film.

Both the latter movie and the three previous films of the film project, which include Evangelion: 1.0 You are (not) Alone, Evangelion: 2.0 You can (not) Advance and Evangelion: 3.0 You can (not) Redo, will be added to the Global Catalog of the Amazon Prime Video platform on August 13. The platform only confirmed explicitly the folding dubbing.

  • Hideaki Anno was in charge of the address of the feature film in Studio Khara, in collaboration with Hiroyasu Kobayashi, Mahiro Maeda and Daisuke Onizuka.
  • Takeishi Honda was in charge of the animation address.

  • Shiro Sagisu was in charge of the composition of the soundtrack.

Synopsis of Neon Genesis Evangelion

In 2015, the world is on the verge of its destruction. The last hope of humanity resides in the hands of NERV, a special agency under the command of the United Nations, and its Evangelions, giant robots capable of defeating Los Angeles who announce the ruin of Earth. Gendou Ikari, head of the organization, looks for compatible pilots who can synchronize with the Evangelions and take out their true potential. Help in this defensive effort are the talented Misato Katsuragi strategist, head of tactical operations, and Ritsuko Akagi, the chief scientist. Face to face with her father for the first time in years, the life of the 14-year-old boy, Shinji Ikari, has to change irreversibly when he is taken to the NERV facilities and discovers his dyeing destination: it must become the pilot of the Evangelion Unit -01 with the fate of humanity in your hands.
