The main criticism, which has not only been read in Latin American forums but also in Japanese forums, has been directed mainly to the designs of the characters' legs, which are now presented quite thin, unlike what was presented in the first season, what happened then?

The criticisms are quite polarized if the Japanese are compared with Latin Americans, although the latter criticize that the "thicc" factor has been removed from the design of the girls, the Japanese praise this change with comments such as:

  • "Definitely leaving the Tezuka Productions studios was the best decision."
  • "Completely in accordance with the designs, the only problem with the new study has been the delays."
  • "The designs from the first season were a huge garbage."
  • "Well, finally we will focus on what matters: the story, and not on making designs that are not faithful to the original material."

It is worth mentioning that the animation studio change refers to an important change in the production team, highlighting the departure of director Satoshi Kuwabara and Tezuka Productions studios, the second season now being directed by Kaori Fujita at Bibury studios. Animation Studios, who were already in charge of the anime adaptation of the game Azur Lane.

Finally, another criticism that has only been observed in Latin American fans is the change in the color of the eyes of Fuutarou Uesugi, the male protagonist of the series. In the first season, the character had a blue eye color, while in the second they have been changed to a yellow color. However, it should be mentioned that yellow is the original color in the manga, something that is demonstrated in several of the covers of the manga's compilation volumes. Shown below is the season one design on the left and the original manga design on the right.
