Through its official Twitter account, the Funimation platform announced that it has launched its application for Android devices in Mexico. "More than 1,500 hours of anime come to your Android device with the Funimation app, available now!", Reads the statement attached to the video.
Within the comments section, the platform noted that the application is only available for Android devices and not mobile devices in general, so new updates will be communicated soon.
The platform was launched for the countries of Mexico and Brazil in November 2020 only in its browser version. According to the communications it had published in the previous months, Funimation included in Mexico more than 200 series and more than 1,500 hours of content, between movies and anime episodes, with some select content with dubbing into Latin Spanish.
Regarding its “Premium Plus” subscription cost, the platform lists a monthly plan of 99.00 Mexican pesos and an annual plan of 990.00 Mexican pesos. This plan allows users to enjoy ad-free broadcasts as well as five simultaneous devices within the same account and access to simulcasts (broadcasts in parallel with Japan) at the time of publication. Regarding the latter, it should be noted that the platform recently issued a statement stating that at the moment they do not have the capacity to offer the content simultaneously with Japan.
