In mid-January, a parody of the opening sequence of the first season of the anime Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon (Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid), starring different characters from the popular video game developed by miHoYo, Genshin Impact, went viral. Just like the original sequence, it features the song "Aozora no Rhapsody" performed by Fhána.
The video did, in fact, come from China's streaming platform Bilibili, but was retrieved via an external YouTube account. On the other hand, Cool-kyou Shinja has published the original manga in Futabasha publishing house's Monthly Action magazine since May 2013, and the publisher published the tenth compiled volume on August 11.
The play inspired a thirteen-episode anime adaptation produced by Kyoto Animation Studios, directed by Yasuhiro Takemoto and scripts written by Yuka Yamada, released in January 2017. A second season will premiere next July in Japan.
