According to the analysis and monitoring portal Sensor Tower, the video game developed by miHoYo, Genshin Impact accumulated around 873 million dollars (about 94 billion yen) just five months after its global launch. The video game achieved the third position in earnings in the period from September 28, 2020 to February 28, 2021, being surpassed by PUBG Mobile and Honor of Kings, respectively.
According to the report, the earnings count only includes the version for mobile devices (except for the Android version released for Mainland China), leaving aside the earnings achieved by the versions for desktop consoles and for PC.
The free-to-play game developed and distributed by miHoYo was released for iOS and Android devices, as well as for PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows globally on September 28. The "Update 1.3" has been available since last February 3 at a global level and the video game achieved the first position in accumulated collection in the year 2020.
Genshin Impact Synopsis
In a world called Teyvat, certain individuals chosen by the gods are given a "Vision", magical gems that give their bearers the ability to control an element. The player starts out as a traveler of unknown origin searching for a lost relative, and can choose between a male or female avatar of the Traveler. As the adventure progresses, the player controls various other characters the Traveler encounters during his journey, each with unique personalities and abilities, as they undertake missions to understand the truth behind the primordial gods of this world.
