Motoaki “Yagoo” Tanigo, the CEO of Virtual YouTubers agency Hololive Production, announced that the company is hiring staff for a new online service that engages the talents of Hololive Production and the fan community. To that end, the agency looks for people who can fulfill the following roles:
- General Director of Live Virtual Events, Community Applications, etcetera.
- Online Video Game Production Engineer (who will work directly with the technical director).
- Technical artist.
- 3DCG modeler (management of characters and backgrounds of Virtual YouTubers).
Tanigo noted that Hololive Production is considering making this service a "metaverse" where Virtual YouTubers can appear at live events, as well as online video games. the ideal is to create a service where "everyone can live online as a 2D character". Hopefully, it will also solve language and communication issues among fans around the world.
The publication also explains that Hololive Production initially started as a streaming service in 2017, although in April 2018 it was switched to the facial capture service to better suit the needs of the moment. However, now that the company's talent pool has expanded, the agency feels it can take on new challenges that will strengthen the brand.
Finally, Cover Corp., was founded in 2016, and the first generation of Virtual YouTubers debuted in 2018. More than 50 talents currently belong to the ranks of Hololive Production, according to the agency's website, and have around 4.4 million followers on YouTube and more than 4 million followers on Bilibili, the streaming platform par excellence in China. Talents perform using intricate 2D and 3D avatars provided by the company.
