Infinite Stratos anime celebrates its 10th anniversary
On January 7, 2011, the animated adaptation of the light novels written by Izuru Yumizuru and illustrated, at that time, by Okiura, Infinite Stratos (IS: Infinite Stratos), was released in Japan. Thus, today is the tenth anniversary of that premiere and although neither the production nor the writer or the illustrators published anything about it, at least the fans did commemorate the occasion with some illustrations with the hashtag #IS ア ニ メ 10 周年記念 企 画.
Yumizuru and Okiura began publishing the light novels through the MF Bunko J imprint of Media Factory publishing house in May 2009, publishing a total of seven volumes. The publication was subsequently moved to Overlap's Overlap Bunko imprint with illustrations by CHOCO, publishing from the eighth volume in April 2013. The publisher published the twelfth volume in April 2018.
The play, in addition to manga adaptations, inspired a twelve-episode anime adaptation produced by 8-Bit Studios, directed by Yasuhito Kikuchi and scripts written by Fumihiko Shimo, released in January 2011. A twelve-episode second season premiered in October 2013, followed by two OVAs.
