Urushidama began publishing the manga on Kadokawa publisher's Comic Newtype website in December 2017. The publisher published the third compiled volume in November 2019.

On the other hand, the original Code Geass series: Hangyaku no Lelouch was produced by Sunrise Studios, directed by Goro Taniguchi and written by Ichiro Okouchi, with original designs by CLAMP. The story centers on the exiled prince Lelouch vi Britannia, who gains the "power of absolute obedience" from a mysterious woman named C.C.

The series was broadcast in Japan through the MBS channel in October 2006, with a total of 25 episodes, to later broadcast a second season in April 2008, also with 25 episodes. The franchise inspired manga adaptations and light novels, as well as a series of compilation films that ended with a new film that expanded on the original story.
