Kouichi Yamadera was born on June 17, 1961 in the prefecture of Miyagi, and entered the entertainment industry in 1985, being currently affiliated with the Across Entertainment representation agency. He was married to Mika Kanai between 1994 and 2006, and with Rie Tanaka between 2012 and 2018. Yamadera was the Manager of the Tagajou High School Basketball Team before becoming a name. The debut of him as a voice actor was in the Ova Megazone 23 as the motorcyclist Shinji Nakagawa, while his debut on television was anime Bosco Adventure as the cowardly Otter.
The outstanding paper of yamadera as a dubbing actor was the Anime Ranma 1/2, in which he played the double role of Hibiki Ryouga and Jusenkyou guide.
