The Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) confirmed that Japanese singer LiSA's seventeenth single, “Homura,” has received Platinum Streaming Certification on January 26, 2021, having surpassed 100 million views through from certified streaming services.
The single has obtained this certification just 81 days after its release, becoming the single that has obtained the certification faster. The title track is also the theme song for the movie Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Ressha-hen, which has also had an impressive performance in theaters in Japan. Thus, since its distribution on October 12, the reproductions of this single on streaming platforms increased exponentially.
The CD for this single (not the digital one) also received Platinum Certification from the association on December 16, 2020, having exceeded 250,000 units sold. In addition, it is worth mentioning that “Homura” received recognition as Song of the Year in the sixty-second edition of the Japan Record Awards held at the end of 2020. Finally, LiSA also participated in the NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen, the most important stage in Japan, for the second year in a row on New Years Eve 2021.
