A popular Japanese comment forum shared the annual accumulated earnings by franchise, noting that the Love Live! Multimedia franchise achieved more than 4.567 billion yen (about 43.9 million dollars) in 2020. With this amount, Love Live! ranks fifth in the earnings ranking, behind Kingdom, Haikyuu !!, One Piece, and the monster that Kimetsu no Yaiba represents, which accumulated more than 54.12 billion yen (about 520 million dollars), which involves more than 1,084% of the Love Live! earnings.
About Love Live!
It is a multimedia project created by ASCII Media Works Dengeki G’s Magazine, Lantis Music Label and Sunrise Animation Studio. The project focuses on a group of nine high school students who decide to become an idol group to save their school from closure and was announced in the August 2010 issue of the magazine Since then CDs, anime series have been produced , music videos, manga and video games.
The first generation of Love Live! was made up of the nine-member group called μ’s (pronounced muse), made up of the following voice actresses: Emi Nitta as Honoka Kousaka; Aya Uchida as Kotori Minami; Suzuko Mimori as Umi Sonoda; Yuriko Kubo as Hanayo Koizumi; Riho Iida as Rin Hoshizora; Pile as Maki Nishikino; Sora Tokui as Nico Yazawa; Aina Kusuda as Nozomi Tojo; and Yoshino Nanjou as Eli Ayase.
The project was widely promoted for its thirteen episode anime adaptation, produced by Sunrise Studios, directed by Takahiko Kyougoku and scripts written by Jukki Hanada, released in January 2013; and followed by another thirteen episode season released in April 2014.
