In the official Twitter account for the animated adaptation of the written sleeve and illustrated by Akihito Tsukushi, Made in Abyss, an update was published informing that a special transmission of the series through the Japanese Abema platform will be performed. The announcement also noted that important advertisements could be given on the same date, according to the phrase: "I have the feeling that we can give new announcements," included in the message.
For its part, Tsukushi began the publication of the manga through the web magazine Comic Gamma of the publisher Takeshobo in October 2012. The publisher published the ninth compilation volume on July 27. The work inspired an adaptation to the anime of thirteen episodes produced by the Kinema Citrus studies, under the direction of Masayuki Kojima and scripts written by Hideyuki Kurata, released in July 2017, followed by two compilation films and Made in Abyss: Dawn of the Deep Soul, premiered in January 2020. The production of a new sequel is confirmed.
