On the official site for the animated adaptation of the Nanatsu no Taizai (The Seven Deadly Sins) manga, the production of a new animated film was announced to be titled Nanatsu no Taizai: Hikari ni Noroware Shisha Tachi (The Seven Deadly Sins: Cursed by Light). The premiere is scheduled in theaters in Japan for the next season Summer-2021 (July-September) and it is confirmed that it will feature an original story (after the end of the series) written by Nakaba Suzuki, author of the franchise. On the other hand, the manga written and illustrated by Nakaba Suzuki was published in the Kodansha publisher's Weekly Shonen Magazine between October 2012 and March 2020, with a total of 41 compiled volumes.
