On November 4, the Anime Fund company will launch a fundraising campaign to finance the production of Seitokai Yakuindomo Movie 2, the second film adaptation of Tozen Ujiie's manga, Seitokai Yakuindomo.
The company's press release stated that it will be an entertainment-type crowdfunding campaign that will not only raise funds for the production, but also allow fans to fulfill their desire to support and enjoy the film together. In addition to having their names in the credits of the feature film, those who support the project will also receive some limited edition products, such as illustrations limited to 300 units by the GoHands company, the film's producer, traditional Japanese t-shirts and teacups.
The project is now preparing several plans for the film's release in Japan, including a special award project tied to the number of fans and a website where the world of the franchise can be enjoyed. The crowdfunding campaign will run from 00:00 on November 4 to 11:59 PM on November 30 this year (all in Japan Standard Time) and its target number of supports is 1,919 people.
Finally, this second film was originally scheduled to hit theaters in Japan on July 10, 2020, three years after the release of the first film in the franchise in July 2017. However, this date was pushed back to 1 January 2021 due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
