In this year's twelfth issue of Kodansha publisher's Nakayoshi magazine it was revealed that the manga written and illustrated by Hiroyuki Takei, Shaman King, will have a shoujo spin-off manga titled Shaman King & A Garden.
This new manga will debut in the first edition of the year 2021 of the Nakayoshi magazine of the Kodansha publishing house, scheduled to be published in Japan on December 1. Takei is credited with the original work while Kyou Nouawa is in charge of writing and illustrating this spin-off. The story will tell the pasts of Kanna, Matilda and Marion.
For his part, Takei published the original manga in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine between June 1998 and August 2004, with a total of 32 compilation volumes published.
The play is inspiring a new anime adaptation that will cover the entire play and is produced by Bridge Studios, under the direction of Takeshi Furuta and scripts written by Shoji Yonemura, scheduled for April 2021.
Shaman King Synopsis
A battle is about to begin in Tokyo: the Battle of Shamans, a competition held every five hundred years in which shamans (those who can command spirits) confront each other. Whoever is victorious in this tournament will be recognized as the “Shaman King” and will be able to contact and control the Great Spirit, allowing him to reform the world at will through his immense power.During a night walk, Manta Oyamada meets his partner , the carefree Yoh Asakura, who invites him to look at the stars with other friends who, to Manta's horror, turn out to be the ghosts of the local cemetery. However, it is also surprising that Manta is able to see them.
