Kadokawa Publishing's Sneaker Bunko imprint announced that the series of light novels written by Zappon and illustrated by Yasumo, Shin no Nakama ja Nai to Yuusha no Party wo Oidasareta node, Henkyou from Slow Life suru Koto ni Shimashita has surpassed one million accumulated circulating copies.
The novels are published in English by Yen Press under the title Banished from the Heroes' Party, I Decided to Live a Quiet Life in the Countryside (Expelled from the group of heroes, I decided to live a quiet life in the country ). On the other hand, Zappo began publishing the novels on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in October 2017. Subsequently, the Kadokawa publishing house began its publication on paper in June 2018, and published the seventh volume on July 1.
The work also inspires a manga adaptation by Masahiro Ikeno, who has published it through Kadokawa publisher's Shonen Ace website since May 2018. An anime adaptation is also confirmed.
