Sword Art Online reveals special promo video

A special promotional video for the launch of the twenty-fifth volume of the light novels written by Reki Kawahara and illustrated by Abec, Sword Art Online, officially titled Sword Art, was posted on the official Twitter account of the Kadokawa publishing house's Dengeki Bunko imprint. Online 25: Unital Ring IV. The video makes a journey through all the story arcs of the literary franchise.

Kawahara published the novels independently between 2002 and 2008. Subsequently, the Kadokawa publisher began publishing on paper with illustrations by Abec and through the Dengeki Bunko imprint in April 2009. The publisher published the twenty-fourth volume on May 9. in Japan and followed by the 25th on December 10.

The work has inspired multiple adaptations to manga, spin-off novels, video games, films and animated series. The most recent mainline project was Sword Art Online: Alicization, aired in four arcs between October 2018 and September 2020, for a total of 47 episodes. The series was produced by A-1 Pictures Studios and covered the ninth through eighteenth volumes of the light novels.

Sword Art Online Synopsis

In the year 2022, a massive online role-playing game called Sword Art Online was released. With the help of "NerveGear" technology, players can control their avatars within the game. Kazuto Kirigaya, nicknamed "Kirito", is one of the lucky ones who have in their hands the first shipment of the game. He logs in to find himself in the world of Aincrad, full of fantastic medieval weapons and hideous monsters. However, in a cruel turn of events, players soon find that they can't log out; the creator of the game has trapped them in his new world until they complete all hundred levels of the game. To make matters worse, if they die in Aincrad, they die in real life. Kirito must adapt to his new reality and fight for his survival.
