Through her official Twitter account, author Paru Itagaki (Beastars) announced that she has already begun with the drafts of the serialization of the Beast Complex manga.

Beast Complex was a one-shot released in March 2016 and tells side stories of friendship and romance centered on other inhabitants of the world from the main play. The serialization has its premiere scheduled for the month of January 2021 in the magazine Weekly Shonen Champion of the Akita Shoten publishing house, for a short time.

Itagaki began publishing the manga in Akita Shoten publisher's Weekly Shonen Champion magazine in September 2016 and ended it in October 2020. The publisher published the twenty-first compiled volume on October 8 in Japan, and will publish the twenty-second and final on January 8, 2021.

The play inspired a twelve episode anime adaptation produced by Studio Orange, directed by Shinichi Matsumi and scripts written by Nanami Higuchi, released in October 2019. A second season is confirmed to premiere in January 2021.

Synopsis of Beastars

In a world populated by anthropomorphic animals, herbivores and carnivores coexist with each other. For the teenagers at Cherryton Academy, school life is full of hope, romance, mistrust and restlessness. The main character in this story is the wolf Regoshi, a member of the drama club. Despite his menacing looks, he has a very soft heart and character. Throughout most of his life, he has always been the object of fear and hatred from other animals and has been used to that lifestyle, but soon, he finds himself more and more involved with his classmates than They have their own insecurities and realize that their life at school will take a major turn.
