A few hours ago, the official Twitter account of Jujutsu Kaisen's manga confirmed that the author, Gege Akutami, will pause serialization due to a decline in his health. The author of Bokutachi WA Benkyou Ga Dekinai (We Never Learn), Taishi Tsutsui shared the publication and simply wrote: "But what a surprise ... Akutami-sensei, please take care of your health!"
On the other hand, Gege Akutami began the publication of the manga in the magazine Weekly Shonen Jump of the Editorial Shueisha in March 2018. The work inspired an adaptation to the premiered anime during the autumn season-2021 (October-December) and ended with A total of twenty-four episodes, produced by the MAPPA studies under the direction of Seong-Hu Park (Garo: Vanishing Line, The God of High School) and scripts written by Hiroshi Seko (Ajin, Dorohydoro, Inuyashiki). The production of an animation film is confirmed for next winter (January-March 2022).
Synopsis of Jujutsu Kaisen
The student of High School Yuuji Itadori, who is surrendered idly to paranormal activities without foundation with the Hidden Club, spends his days in the clubroom or at the hospital, where he visits his grandfather prostrate in bed. However, this paused lifestyle soon gives a turn towards the strange when he, without knowing it, he meets a cursed object. Triggering a chain of supernatural events, Yuuji is suddenly pushed into the world of curses, terrible beings trained by human malice and negativity, after swallowing said article, which is revealed as a finger that belongs to the demon Sukuna Ryoumen, the " King of the curses ". Anduji experiences first-hand the threat that these curses represent for society when he discovers his own newly acquired powers. Introduced at the Technical College of Metropolitan Magic of Tokyo, he begins to walk on a path from which he can not return: the path of a jujutsu sorcerer.
