Namori began publishing the Yuru Yuri manga in 2008, and Ichijinsha publishing house published the 18th compiled volume on May 27. The work has inspired three anime adaptations, several OVAs, and other spin-offs.

Cool-kyou Shinja has published the Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon manga in Futabasha Publishing's Monthly Action magazine since May 2013, and the publisher published the ninth compiled volume in November 2019.

The play inspired a thirteen-episode anime adaptation produced by Kyoto Animation studios, directed by Yasuhiro Takemoto and scripts written by Yuka Yamada, released in January 2017. A second season is confirmed to premiere in January 2021. .
