Earlier this month a publication carried out by Kentucky Fried Chicken Spain became an altered image (Meme) by sharing a black and white photograph of Colonel Sanders with Chika Fujiwara, a character of the Kaguya-sama franchise : Love is War (Kaguya-Sama WA Kokurasetai: Tensai-Tachi No Renai Zunousen).
The publication became so viral that it reached the Japanese forums and even inspired an answer from the author aka akasaka, declaring a fan of the cabbage salad. However, it was not until today that the production team of Kaguya-sama: Love is War shared an answer about it. The answer, lacking any word, simply included a box of KFC products with the face of Colonel Sanders in front, next to a small Acrylic Chika stand. This is a direct reference to the previous Meme, especially because they applied a black and white filter to photography.
On the other hand, Akasaka began the publication of the manga in Miracle Jump magazine of the Shueisha publisher in May 2015, and moved it to the magazine Weekly Young Jump in 2016. The publisher published the twenty-first compilation volume in February 2021, followed of the twenty second last May 19 in Japan. The work already has 15 million copies in circulation.
