On the official site for the live-action film based on the manga written and illustrated by Sumito Oowara, Eizouken ni wa Te wo Dasu na !, a new promotional video for the project was posted.
The film will open in theaters in Japan on September 25. In fact, the film was scheduled to premiere on May 15, however, due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the premiere had to be delayed indefinitely.
For his part, Oowara began publishing the manga in Shogakukan's Monthly Big Comic Spirits magazine in July 2016, and the publisher published the fifth compiled volume on January 30. The play inspired a twelve-episode anime adaptation produced by Science SARU studios, directed by Masaaki Yuasa and scripts written by himself in conjunction with Yuuichirou Kido, released in January 2020.
Cast of actors
- Minami Umezawa, Asuka Saitou, and Mizuki Yamashita of the idol group Nogizaka46 star in the live-action project as the characters Sayaka Kanamori, Midori Asakusa, and Tsubame Mizusaki, respectively. Tsutomu Hanabusa (3D Kanojo: Real Girl, Kakegurui, Asahinagu) is directing the film.
- The three main cast members also perform the title track titled "Fantastic Sanshoku Pan," while the band Thinking Dogs performed the live-action series theme song, titled "Heavenly Ideas."
Synopsis of Eizouken ni wa Te wo Dasu na!
The story follows Midori, Tsubame, and Sayaka, an energetic trio of first-year high school girls who meet at the Eizo-ken (Video Research Club) to turn their anime dreams into reality. Midori is nervous about creating an anime on her own. She meets Tsubame, who appears to be a well-to-do girl, but really has a dream: to be a cheerleader. Sayaka, Midori's best friend, has a great sense of finances to carry out the project and joins the other two girls in search of her dreams.
