In the official Twitter account of the CLAMP Creative Group, the covers of the new editions of the first two volumes of the XXXHolic sleeve, which are part of the Clamp Premium Collection were published. The headband confirmed that the literary franchise has exceeded 14 million cumulative circulation copies between the twenty-three compilation volumes published to date.
The manga was original was published by through the magazine Weekly Young Magazine between 2003 and 2009, and later in the magazine Bessatsu Shonen Magazine between 2009 and 2011. Subsequently, the publication returned to the Weekly Young Magazine in 2013 where he lost until 2017, year he entered an indefinite pause. To date, a total of twenty-three compilation volumes and, according to clamp, the continuation is still in process.
The work has inspired two adaptations to the anime produced by the Production I.G studies. The first season of twenty-four episodes was premiered in April 2006, followed by a second season entitled XXXHolic Kei in June 2008, with thirteen episodes. By living alone after the death of his parents, Kimihiro Watanuki is a high school student who can see creatures from another world that are attracted to him. The days of him are plagued by these discomforts and he wants to get rid of them. A fateful day, while Kimihiro is persecuted by a horde of spirits, his feet take him to a mysterious store to seek refuge. Here he knows Yuuko Ichihara, the owner of this supposed store, who says he can grant wishes. Yuko is offered to grant him that of Kimihiro, as long as she pays an adequate price. This begins the time of Kimihiro working in the store of him to gain the necessary payment for his desire. In the employment of Yuuko, he must get more involved with the spirits and the supernatural before he can leave that world behind. How will he go in the inexplicable encounters that await him?
