The Japanese Portal Mantan Web published a statement by the Kodansha publisher, in this regard of the written sleeve and illustrated by Ken Wakui, Tokyo Revengers, and the increase in sales product of the animated adaptation of the work.
The publisher pointed out that, after the premiere of the animated adaptation of the manga in Japan, the literary franchise has increased its sales 6.7 times as far as it sold before the premiere (according to the editorial estimates themselves), with an estimate of 2.4 volumes sold per second. The publisher pointed out that the editors of the series are more than happy that the manga is selling much more than expected.
Just before the anime premiere, the official Twitter account of the franchise revealed at the end of March that the series had 10 million copies of accumulated circulation. Since then, the series has been kept in the most important manga sales lists, being the ninth most sold series in March, according to Oricon, which tracks physical sales of media in Japan, and jumped to second place (and above Kimetsu No Yaiba) in April. With the Live-Action film near premiere, it is likely that numbers do not make it more to continue increasing.
Wakui began the publication of the manga in the magazine Weekly Shonen Magazine of the Editorial Kodansha in March 2017. An adaptation to the anime produced by the studios Liden Films, under the direction of Koichi Hatsumi and scripts written by Yasuyuki Muto, is currently in broadcast in Japan.
