On the official site for the manga written and illustrated by Kenjirou Hata, Tonikaku Kawaii, it was confirmed that the work has exceeded two million cumulative copies in circulation in the twelve compilation volumes published to date. The statement also revealed the cover of the thirteenth compilation volume, which will be released on October 16 in Japan.
Hata began publishing the manga in Shogakukan publisher's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine in February 2018, and the publisher published the eleventh compiled volume on May 18 and the twelfth on August 18.
The play is inspiring an anime adaptation slated to premiere in October, produced by Seven Arcs Pictures Studios under the direction of Hiroshi Ikehata and scripts written by Kazuho Hyodo.
Tonikaku Kawaii Synopsis
The romantic comedy follows a boy named Nasa who meets the beautiful girl Tsukasa the day he enters high school, and immediately falls in love with her. Nasa confesses her feelings, but she replies that she will only go out with him if they marry. Years later, when Nasa turns 18, Tsukasa appears again in her life requesting her promised marriage. This is how their newlywed life will begin, can a couple of young people face a new lifestyle, when they know so little about each other?
