Wilderness manga will resume in 2021

In this year's 10th issue of Shogakukan's Monthly Sunday GX magazine, it was announced that the serialization of the manga written and illustrated by Akihiro Itou, Wilderness, will resume in 2021. The work will begin to republish its chapters in the issue. magazine, until the manga resumes publication.

Itou began publishing the manga in Shogakukan Publishing's Monthly Sunday GX magazine in August 2000 but put the work on hiatus due to illness that made him unable to use his dominant right hand to draw (he is currently writing and illustrating the ABLE sleeve with his left hand). The publisher published the seventh compilation volume in 2009.

Additionally, Itou also finalized the publication of the Diosa no Atama manga in the same issue. The author published this manga since July 2017, and the publisher will publish the second and final compilation volume on November 19.

Wilderness Synopsis

The manga's story begins with six men who initiate a bank robbery somewhere in Los Angeles, taking hostages and holding off the police trying to break into the facilities. Among the suspects is a Japanese man calling himself Mattlay, who joined the robber team to pay off his girlfriend's debts. The criminals manage to escape via helicopter, but while they are in the air any trace of honor that bound them as colleagues quickly begins to fade.
