In the most recent issue of Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, published by Shueisha publisher, it was announced that author Kaiu Shirai and illustrator Posuka Demizu will premiere a new one-shot chapter for their famed Yakusoku no Neverland manga series (also known as as The Promised Neverland) to commemorate the start of the second season of its anime series adaptation. This launch will have 32 pages (one of them in color), will be published on January 4, 2021 in the aforementioned magazine and will be titled We Were Born.
Previously, the magazine published two one-shot chapters, one of them focused on the character of Sister Krone and another focused on Isabella. Both were released on December 7 and 14, respectively.
Shirai and Demizu began publication of the manga in Shueisha publisher's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in August 2016 and ended it in June 2020. The publisher published the nineteenth compiled volume on July 3, followed by the twenty-final on July 3. last October 2.
The play inspired an anime adaptation released in January 2019. A live-action film with slight modifications to the plot will be released on December 18. A second season of the anime was confirmed to premiere in October 2020, but due to the current health situation in Japan, it will now be released in January 2021.
Synopsis of Yakusoku no Neverland
At Grace Field House, life couldn't be better for the orphans. Together with the other children and a kind “mom” who cares about them, they make a big happy family. No child is ever overlooked, especially since they are all adopted at the age of 12. Their daily lives involve rigorous tests, but afterwards, they are allowed to play outside.
