LiSA's single 'Homura' dominates for 13 consecutive weeks
On January 12 in Japan, it was reported that Japanese singer LiSA's seventeenth single, "Homura," has achieved No. 1 on Oricon's "Weekly Download Rankings" for the thirteenth consecutive week, further expanding its already established record as the single with the most consecutive weeks in the first position.
The record was previously held by Kenshi Yonezu's 2018 single “Lemon,” which held the record for ten consecutive weeks at the top of the digital charts. "Homura" accumulated more than 26,000 downloads in its thirteenth week, already exceeding the 843,000 downloads accumulated since its launch.
It is worth mentioning that this LiSA song was also the main musical theme of the film Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Ressha-hen, and that it was released on October 12, becoming the first single of 2020 to exceed one million copies sold and the second of the artist to achieve the feat, after "Gurenge". Thus, “Homura” was also crowned “Song of the Year” during the sixty-second edition of the “Japan Record Awards”, on December 30, 2020.
On January 13 in Japan, LiSA will release their eighteenth single titled “Dawn,” which is also the opening theme song for the original anime Back Arrow, which is produced by Aniplex and Studio VOLN, under the direction of Goro Taniguchi (Code Geass - Hangyaku no Lelouch) and scripts written by Kazuki Nakashima (Promare, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Kill la Kill).
