On January 12, 2022 in Japan, five years since the premiere of the adaptation to the anime of the written manga are met and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari, Kuzu No Honkai (SCUM's Wish). This adaptation was produced by the Lerche studies and counted on a total of twelve episodes.
Yokoyari published the original manga through the Big Gangan magazine of the Square Enix publishing house between September 2012 and March 2017, compiling the work in a total of eight volumes. The work also inspired a Live-Action series for television directed by Shogo Miyaki and Shunsuke Shinada, released in January 2017 and counting on twelve episodes.
In addition to the SPIN-OFF KUZU Manga No Honkai: Décor, the work inspired an adaptation to the anime of twelve episodes produced by the Lerche studies, under the direction of Masaomi Ando and scripts written by Makoto Uezu, released during the winter season-2017 ( January March). Since it occurred almost at the close of the original story, the anime adapted all the history of the manga, although leaving out some additional details.
Synopsis of Kuzu no Honkai
For the outside world, Hanabi Yasuraoka and Mugi Awaya are the perfect couple. But in reality, they only share the same secret pain: both are in love with other people with whom they can not be. Hanabi loves the childhood friend and neighbor of her Narumi Kanai since she has a use of reason, so she is happy about her to discover that he is the new class teacher. However, Narumi does not take long to notice the music teacher, Akane Minagawa, and among them begins to bloom a relationship, for the disgrace of Hanabi. Mugi was tutelated by Akane in high school, and has been in love with her since then. Through a casual encounter in the hallway, he knows Hanabi. As these two solitary souls spend more time together, they decide to use the other as a substitute for the person who really love, sharing physical intimacy with the other to avoid their loneliness.
