The Grisaia no Kajitsu franchise celebrates its 10th anniversary

Frontwing's adult visual novel Grisaia no Kajitsu (The Fruit of Grisaia) was released in Japan in February 2011. The game was released for Windows and later had a port for the PlayStation Portable and PlayStation Vita. This means this month is marking the 10th anniversary of the popular multimedia franchise. To celebrate this, a special website with an illustration has been launched.

The illustration was done by Akio Watanabe, who has been the franchise's character designer ever since. Additionally, it was also announced that a massive popularity survey of the characters will be carried out soon, in which all the released installments of this franchise will participate. Finally, the Grisaia: Chronos Rebellion smartphone game is also holding a special event in Japan.

The franchise inspired a thirteen-episode anime adaptation produced by 8-Bit studios, under the direction of Tensho and scripts written by Hideyuki Kurata, released in October 2014. A second season titled Grisaia no Rakuen (The Eden of Grisaia) will be released. premiered in April 2015 and had ten episodes, followed by the film project Grisaia: Phantom Trigger The Animation, which to date has two feature films produced by Bibury Animation Studios.

Grisaia no Kajitsu Synopsis

Yuuji Kazami is a transfer student who has just been admitted to Mihama Academy. He wants to live a normal high school life, but this dream cannot come true as soon as he discovers that Mihama Academy is the opposite. The institute only consists of the principal and five other students, all of whom are girls. Yuuji becomes familiar with each of them, discovering more about their personalities as socialization is inevitable. Little by little, he begins to discover the truth behind the small group of students who occupy the academy, as each one has their own traumatic experiences that keep them away from the outside world. The Mihama Academy acts as a home for these girls, who are the "fruit" that fell from their trees and they have started to decline. It's up to Yuuji to become the catalyst to save them from themselves, but how can he save another when he can't even save himself?
